Road Changes: There have been significant changes in the Walney Road/ Route 28 intersection. Click here for details.
From the Dulles Airport area:
Travel south on Route 28 to Westfield Blvd. Turn left on Westfield Blvd and drive 0.6 miles to Walney Road. Turn right onto Walney Road and drive 1.5 miles to the Visitor Center on the right or 2.0 miles to the Cabells Mill complex on the left or Walney Pond on the right.
To return you may take Walney Road south to Route 28 and turn right on Route 28. You may not turn left or go straight at this intersection.
From Interstate 66:
Go north on Route 28 staying in the right lane. Turn right at Walney Road. Drive 0.2 miles to Walney Pond on the left or the Cabells Mill complex on the right. Drive 0.7 miles to the Visitor Center on the left.
To return you must go north on Walney Road to Westfield Blvd. where you should turn left. Turn left at Route 28 to return to I66. You will not be able to turn left at the intersection of Walney Road and Route 28 to get back to I66.
From Reston:
Go south on the Fairfax County Parkway to Silverbrook Road. Turn right onto Silverbrook Road and follow it across Route 50 until Poplar Tree Road (2nd traffic light after Route 50). Turn right onto Poplar Tree Road and follow that to Walney Road (first traffic light). Turn left onto Walney Road. The Visitor Center will be on your right and the Cabells Mill complex on the left.
