Turn right onto the gravel trail just prior to Lorton Rd.

Follow the asphalt trail along Rt 123 with the Lorton Prison on your left.

The gravel trail connects to the access road around the prison. Continue straight on the access road with the prison fence on your right.

Upon nearing Rt 123 continue straight onto the gravel trail to reach an asphalt trail along Rt 123. Turn left onto that trail.

An access road intercepts from the left . Turn left to follow this road away from the prison fence.

Follow the prison road with the fence on your left.

Walk along the grass to the right of the road. The trail will enter the woods at a higher level than the access road. This is the end of the detour.

The trail joins an access road. Follow it to an intersecting prison road prior to the prison fence. Turn right to begin a detour route around the prison.
